Where It All Began: 1977
Pahlen Realty, Inc was founded in 1977 by Scott and Carolyn Pahlen (originally named Scott Pahlen Realty, Inc). Scott started the business as a Real Estate Appraiser, working out of his home in Roosevelt, MN. There was no large office, no marketing department, just a desk, a phone, a rolodex and a commitment to serving the community well.
From those early days in a home office, the business grew through hard work, honesty, and word-of-mouth. Scott eventually got his Broker’s license and Carolyn settled in as the Administrator and Bookkeeper. As Scott & Carolyn’s kids (Bryan & Holli) grew, they were a part of the real estate business in various ways. Whether it was cleaning out properties or attending showings with Scott, real estate was in their blood from a very young age. Scott continued to build the business and his reputation one relationship and client at a time. Nearly five decades later, that foundation still guides everything we do.
In 2001, with a few Agents under the umbrella and business booming Scott & Carolyn decided to move the business into Warroad and found the perfect office location on the corner of Hwy 11 and Hwy 5. This is where we remain today.
A Real Estate Team Built on Experience and Loyalty
Bryan & Holli eventually received their Real Estate Salesperson licenses; with Bryan obtaining his Broker license in 2011. Bryan and his wife, Jennessa, became owners of Pahlen Realty in 2022 and remain committed to upholding the values of honesty, integrity, and strong client relationships that have defined the business for decades.
In addition to our family roots, we’re incredibly proud of the people who have chosen to build their careers alongside us.
Our appraiser, Nels, has been with Pahlen Realty since 2001. His knowledge of property values throughout Roseau & Lake of the Woods Counties brings a depth of market insight that few brokerages can offer. Having a long-standing, trusted appraiser as part of our extended team strengthens the level of guidance we provide to buyers and sellers.
In addition to Bryan and Jennessa, our brokerage is supported by a talented group of Agents – Scott Pahlen, Jack Goulet, Holli Parenteau, and Scott Johnson, whose diverse experience and strong local knowledge strengthen the service we provide.
